Ain’t no day like leg day! This short sequence will have some of you making your best beast face and others melting into open hips – either way, the release you’ll get from these awesome leg openers is well worth the effort!

Lunges and quad stretches

We’re talking lizard here. And flying lizard. And just about any other lunge to open up the groin and quadriceps. Take your time in these poses, really breathing into the stretch. If you’re feeling strong, try holding the Yin version of lizard, Dragon pose, for 3 minutes. Oof.

Forward folds

If you are like me, forward folds are you arch-nemesis. Opt for a straight spine rather than folding down low and try to extend forwards rather than down. Who cares if you’re basically sitting upright? You’re treating your hamstrings to a lovely stretch!

Forward Splits (and switch)

This hilarious and dynamic version of the splits will both benefit your legs and make you look very silly. Socks on (controversial, we know) – slide down as far as you can into the splits (with blocks in hand for support). Slide back up, switch and repeat! Take it easy and never go so far that you can’t square your hips. /
